WHat we do
The ABBA Farmers Initiative aims to establish successful commercial farming operations across Africa and the developing world, promoting increased agricultural productivity as a foundation for industrialisation and long-term food security.
Commercial farmers are defined as producers who cultivate crops primarily for commercial markets using modern farming methods, advanced machinery, and effective management systems. This approach enables large-scale production, improved efficiency, and access to both local and international markets.
The name ABBA is inspired by Romans 8:14–16, reflecting the initiative’s commitment to combining agricultural development with spiritual growth. Drawing on over 93 years of African agricultural expertise, the programme was developed over seven years through successful pilot projects in Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The ABBA model empowers communities by creating sustainable, commercially viable farming enterprises that generate lasting socio-economic benefits. In addition to improving productivity and livelihoods, the initiative incorporates 12 spiritual development disciplines to foster strong values, leadership, and community transformation for future generations.
